Oskarovac Gene Hekman, his wife and one of their dogs were dead long before the maintenance worker found them in their house in Santa Fe, in the state of her Mexico, the United States, to investigators.
Hekman (95) was lying dead into the hallway of the side entrance, and his wife, pianist Betsi Arakava in the bathroom, end of the heater involved. There was a bottle of drugs open next to her, and the pills scattered on the shelf.
The spokesman of the Sheriff's office said there was no wounds on the bodies.
Gas installations have been checked and no problems were found, nor did the fire service find signs of accumulation of carbon monoxide or other poisoning.
The maintenance worker said that the front door of the house was open when he arrived on Wednesday, and he called the police as soon as he found his bodies. He and another worker said that they rarely saw homeowners and that the last contact with them had about two weeks earlier.
Hekman seemed to fell. He was wearing a blue shirt, gray tranquils and slippers. There were sunglasses nearby nearby.
The dead German shepherd was in the cabinet in the bathroom near the body of Hekman's wife Arakawa, the police said.
Two living dogs were found on the property, one in the house, and the other outside.
Hekman was among the best actors of his generation, appearing in films from the 1960s to his retirement in the early 2000s. He was five times nominated for the Oscars he won only for the film "French connection" in 1972. and "unforgers" for two decades later.
