Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić delivered a pointed response to Montenegrin Prime Minister Milojko Spajić, dismantling his recent statements in just a few sharply worded lines.
Speaking during a briefing in Belgrade, Vučić addressed Spajić’s comments on regional cooperation and political promises, saying that Montenegro’s leadership should “focus on concrete results instead of premature declarations.” In a firm tone, he added that accomplishments matter more than public announcements, summarizing his stance with the well-known phrase: “First jump, then say hop.”
Vučić emphasized that Serbia remains committed to stability in the region, but stressed that trust must be built through actions rather than rhetoric. His remarks were interpreted as a direct critique of Spajić’s recent statements on economic and diplomatic initiatives, which Vučić suggested were presented without sufficient groundwork.
Political analysts noted that the exchange highlights growing tensions between the two leaders, who have frequently clashed over policy priorities and regional influence. Despite this, Vučić reiterated that Serbia is open to cooperation — but only on “realistic, mutually beneficial terms.”
The Montenegrin government has yet to formally respond to Vučić’s comments.
