Conservative nationalist candidate, historian Karol Navrocki, won the presidential election in Poland against the liberal mayor of Warsaw, Rafal Tchaskowski, the National Electoral Commission announced this morning, according to agencies.
According to the commission, Navrocki won 50.89 percent of the vote, and Tchaskowski 49.11 percent in the second round of the presidential election held on Sunday.
The Agence France-Presse assessed that the election results highlight the polarization in the NATO and European Union member state.
