On Friday, three weeks earlier than last year, the first seasonal United Airlines plane landed at Dubrovnik Airport “Ruđer Bošković” near Dubrovnik on a direct flight from New York.
Dubrovnik Airport spokesperson Marina Ruso Mileusnić pointed out that this is the only direct route between Croatia and the United States, which has been further expanded this season.
“Last year, United Airlines flew from Newark Airport to Dubrovnik four times a week, while this season these flights will be daily. This regime is valid until the end of September, and during October there will be four flights a week,” Ruso Mileusnić stated.
Among the novelties in this year's season, Ruso Mileusnić also singled out the Swissair route between Dubrovnik and Zurich, which will operate up to five times a week during the summer flight schedule.
“There is also a new easyJet route to Bordeaux once a week, as well as three new Ryanair routes to Gothenburg, Marseille and Katowice, which will operate twice a week. In total, Ryanair will connect Dubrovnik with 21 destinations this season,” added Ruso Mileusnić.
Incidentally, the “Ruđer Bošković” airport is less than 19 kilometers away from the Debeli Brijeg border crossing, reminds the Investitor.me portal.
