Councilors in Podgorica shortened the mandate of the Assembly, elections are on the way

Councilors in the Assembly of the Capital City shortened the mandate of the Assembly today.
The decision to shorten the mandate was supported by 31 councilors. The councilors of the recent majority from the ranks of the Europe Now Movement, the Democrats and the coalition "For the Future of Podgorica" ​​did not attend the vote.
The President of the Assembly of the Capital City, Jelena Borovinić Bojović, did not allow the councilors to declare whether this item should be voted on immediately after the discussion, referring to the Rules of Procedure.
The decision of Borovinić Bojović was opposed by councilors of the opposition, Movement for Podgorica, Civic Movement URA. Councilor Jevrosima Pejović asked that Borovinić Bojović clarify his decision, while DPS councilor Andrija Klikovac said that it was Borovinić Bojović's arbitrariness.
After the vote, the member of the Democratic Party of Socialists Andrija Klikovac said that the decision will be published in the Official Gazette tomorrow, in order to create formal prerequisites for calling the election.
The continuation of the session is scheduled for Monday.
