The EU member states at the Instrument of Pre-Accession Support Committee (IPA) gave a positive decision on the Reform Agenda of Montenegro, RTCG Brussels learns.
After the positive decision of the IPA board, the European Commission (EC) will approve the reform agenda, and then conclude agreements on benefits and loans with each of the beneficiaries.
The European Commission previously announced that Montenegro will receive 383.5 million euros from this support mechanism, which will be available to the country until the end of 2027.
Of the total amount, 110 million will be grants, and the rest is provided through favorable loans.
The adoption of the reform agenda is a condition for the payment of the first installment of 29 million euros, which is seven percent of the total amount available to Montenegro, while the rest will be paid in six semi-annual tranches and will be conditional on the results of implementing the reforms.
In addition to Montenegro, the EU member states have given the green light for the reform agendas of Serbia, Kosovo, North Macedonia and Albania, while Bosnia and Herzegovina has not yet submitted a complete agenda.
Reform programs include socio-economic aspects and the area of fundamental rights.
