LP: If Bečić does not offer his resignation after the "foul", we will ask Spajić to raise the issue

After this morning's theatrics, populism and attempts to abuse the work of the independent institutions of the state, Deputy Prime Minister Aleksa Bečić has no choice but to realize that after this own goal he is ready to resign, the Liberal Party (LPCG) said.
This morning, Bečić welcomed the arrest of the director of the Agency for the Prevention of Corruption, even though at that moment the members of the Special Police Department only searched the premises of the ASK, and the SDT said that they did not handcuff anyone.
In the LP they say that with his actions, Bečić is harming the state of Montenegro and its reputation and integrity.
It is incomprehensible that another member of the government, whose responsibility is the coordination of the security services, "falls" for such a media spin, congratulating the "arrest" of the director of the ASK before she was also "arrested", and that immediately afterwards the Special State Prosecutor's Office publicly denied it in a statement that in fact no one was arrested - it was emphasized in the LP statement.
In this way, they point out, Bečić exposed the shallowness of his politics and approach to a serious job such as the coordination of security services, failing at the most basic things, driven by an insatiable desire for self-promotion, and devoid of concern for the reputation and integrity of the position he holds.
If Bečić approaches other activities within the framework of the fight against organized crime and corruption like this, we are afraid that Montenegro will not quickly have any quality results. If Mr. Bečić does not feel the need to show personal responsibility after such a "foul" and offer his resignation from this position in the Government, the Liberal Party will demand the dismissal of Aleksa Bečić from the Prime Minister, taking into account the interests of the state and the citizens of Montenegro, especially at a time when Montenegro expects to receive the final criteria for EU membership. This will be an excellent test for the Government to show whether they really care about the European future of Montenegro or whether they are just a frivolous group of interests - the announcement said.
