Part of the NGO sector requests that the prosecution initiate proceedings against Kovačević

The European Movement in Montenegro, the Center for Monitoring and Research (CEMI) and the non-governmental organization (NGO) 35mm called on the State Prosecutor's Office to initiate proceedings against the President of the Municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, for his speech at the commemoration of the 166th anniversary of the Battle of Grahovac.

Those three NGOs asked the coalition partners of Kovačević in Nikšić to deny him confidence if he does not resign within 48 hours.

In a joint statement, the European Movement, CEMI and NGO 35mm stated that they fear that Kovačević's latest outburst is part of a planned action to destabilize Montenegro and an incentive for the outbreak of inter-ethnic conflicts.

- The call, that is, the announcement that the government will know how to deal with the Montenegrins, if they do not accept what they expect from them, Kovačević and his political mentors announce the radicalization of Kovačević's party, all with the aim of provoking inter-national and inter-religious tensions in Montenegro, says the joint statement .

It is emphasized that this outburst represents a continuation of announcements coming from the parties of the former DF, which announce the incitement of conflict, all with the intention of preventing the accelerated accession of Montenegro to the EU.
