Reactions in Ulcinj after the death of a woman in labor: Petition launched, protests announced

Reactions continue after 35-year-old Drita Tafa died after giving birth in a hospital in Bar.
She was buried yesterday in Ulcinj, leaving behind three minor children, writes Ul Info.
Another woman from Ulcinj has been in serious condition for more than a month after giving birth in that health institution.
The President of the Municipality of Ulcinj, Genci Nimanbegu, requested the reaction of the doctors in the hospital in Bar, the management of that institution, as well as the Ministry of Health. He stated that the local self-government, within its competences, will contact the competent authorities.
"I appeal to all institutions, the leaders of the hospital in Bar, as well as the Ministry of Health, to take the necessary measures so that the culprits are adequately punished and to do everything in their power to make this tragic case the last," said the head of the opposition URE Omer Bajraktari.
At the same time, a petition was launched on the Internet to replace the gynecologist at the hospital in Bar, Vesna Đokvučić, while women's organizations in Ulcinj announced a protest gathering.
The director of the hospital in Bar, Igor Karišik, told the Public Service that today he will respond to the accusations against the institution he heads, after inspecting the medical documentation and talking with the competent gynecologist and the head of gynecology.
