There are no signatures from SNP, CM URA and Civis for the extraordinary session on the election of the Government

The meeting of representatives of the pro-Serbian and pro-Russian parliamentary majority on the formation of a new government has ended, and the signatures for scheduling an extraordinary session at which the formation of a new government would be decided have not yet been collected. The SNP, Civic Movement URA and Civis did not submit the signatures to the request for scheduling an extraordinary session of the Parliament. Mandate Miodrag Lekić started negotiations for the composition of the new government with representatives of the pro-Serbian and pro-Russian parliamentary majority.

In addition to Lekić, the meeting in the Assembly is attended by leaders of the New Serbian Democracy (Nova) Andrija Mandić, Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević, Movement for Change (PzP) Nebojša Medojević, Democrat Aleksa Bečić, Socialist People's Party (SNP) Vladimir Joković, Prave Crne Gore Marko Milačić, Maksim Vučinić of the Workers' Party, Srđan Pavićević of CIVIS, Dritan Abazović of the Civil Movement (GP) URA and party official Ana Novaković Đurović and officials of the United Montenegro Goran Danilović.

As previously announced, the meeting will discuss the composition of the government and the dynamics of its formation.

We remind you that on December 29, the parliamentary majority declared Miodrag Lekić the mandate holder for the composition of the new Government of Montenegro on the basis of unconstitutional changes to the Law on the President.

After the President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, refused to declare a mandate holder, the Assembly established that Đukanović did not act in accordance with the constitution and the law, and, as the President of the Parliament Danijela Đurović said, the conditions were met to apply the unconstitutional amended Law on the President and Lekić declared as the mandate because he has the support of the majority.

We remind you that Washington and Brussels have repeatedly called not to elect a government on the basis of that disputed law, warning that they will not have communication with that executive power. The European Union also threatened to terminate accession negotiations with Montenegro.
