US Embassy: We are concerned about parties that can prevent the progress of Montenegro, we call for caution

The new Montenegrin Government should be responsible for its own set goals - "full membership of Montenegro in the European Union; active and credible membership in the NATO alliance; improvement of good neighborly relations; and strengthening the role of our country in multilateral organizations, was announced by the US Embassy on the occasion of the formation of the new Government.
However, they are worried and say that parties that do not support these goals could prevent the progress of Montenegro.
As a NATO ally, we are concerned that parties that historically do not support these stated goals could hinder Montenegro's progress. We call for caution in order to ensure that Montenegro takes advantage of this historic opportunity to realize its full democratic and economic potential - said the US Embassy.
They hope, he says, to see how the newly formed government makes rapid progress in fulfilling its obligations, advancing the country on its path to EU accession and remaining a strong ally in NATO.
We will support and acknowledge the constructive actions of the new Assembly and the Government, but also express our concern about activities that are contrary to Euro-Atlantic values and that hinder tangible progress towards EU integration. Expectations are high and we expect that they can and will be fulfilled - the Embassy stated.
