Families of those killed and wounded in two crimes in Cetinje call on citizens of Montenegro to gather on August 12 in the capital

AUTHOR:M.J. GDNUS

Families of those tragically killed and wounded in two horrific crimes in Cetinje on August 12, 2022 in Medovina and January 1, 2025, in which 23 people were brutally killed, including 4 children and 10 seriously wounded, call on citizens of Montenegro to gather together on August 12 at 3 p.m. at the Villa in Cetinje and together demand answers from those responsible for these tragedies.

"Three years since the first brutal crime, the silence of the institutions has continued, ignoring the families of the victims and abandoning them to oblivion, hoping that they will be forgotten and give up.

We cannot and do not want to give up and forget because that would be a repeated crime against the victims and an act of their gravest betrayal.

Therefore, we call on all citizens, intellectuals, non-governmental organizations, associations, but above all parents, to come together on August 12th and show that oblivion is not an option and that we will do everything to ensure that the state receives the Markov and Mašan laws, because the children who died could have been any Montenegrin child.

Let us show that we are a society of solidarity, empathy and institutional responsibility.

Let us show that lives are the greatest value and that Montenegro can, knows and wants to come together around this greatest value.

Let us remember, we do not forget, we fight!

Be with us on August 12th, so that we demand accountability from those responsible, so that we do everything so that the crime never happens again!", stated the families of the tragic victims.
