In the early morning hours, we can expect the assistance of a Canadian from the Republic of Croatia, the Ministry of the Interior of Montenegro announced.
"A large number of fires have been active on the territory of Montenegro since last night and in the early morning hours, and many of them have approached homes and threatened to endanger citizens' property. As the conditions for activating the EU Civil Protection Mechanism have been met, at 11:28 a.m. the Ministry of the Interior sent a call for assistance to the Member States of the Mechanism. At 2:19 p.m. we received a response from the Emergency Response Center ERCC on the possibility of engaging aircraft and the situation is such that in the early morning hours we can expect the assistance of a Canadian from the Republic of Croatia," they pointed out.
The Ministry of the Interior states that a Kamov helicopter is already above Piper, which arrived in Podgorica around 5 p.m.
