Rockford Police investigate after a man is shot multiple times

Rockford police are investigating an overnight shooting that happened around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 5400 block of E State St.

According to police, a 24-year-old man sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. He is currently in stable condition.
