Montenegrin football players will welcome Iceland tomorrow at 6 pm in the penultimate round of Group B4 of the UEFA Nations League.
The match at the City Stadium in Nikšić is an opportunity for the "falcons" to score their first points in this edition of the Nations League. So far, our team has been defeated all four times.
- It is not pleasant, especially when you have four defeats. The result is what it is. We have two games, especially the first one, where we have to focus on Iceland, we play in Nikšić where we played well against Wales. Iceland is dangerous, they always know what they want, they are dangerous from the break. Not a bad team at all, they have excellent transition. They have players who have been playing together for a long time. We want to do the best we can, we will try to break the black streak. It will not be easy, but the boys have been working well these days, now we have to transfer that to the field, said coach Robert Prosinecki at today's press conference.
After the friendly matches in March, in which Montenegro defeated Belarus and North Macedonia, Prosinečki had all the players he wanted to call up available.
- Since we started, we have always had problems with injuries, and these are very important players for Montenegro. We are not going to complain. We don't even have Jovetić against Iceland because of yellow cards, there are obvious problems, but that's how it is, it was not meant to be together. No complaining, we will play the game as best as possible, and then we will do the analysis, Prosinečki added.
"Falcon" defender Risto Radunović is aware that the national team is not in a good position, but he believes that it will change tomorrow.
- We are not going through a good period. In these four matches, we have shown much more than the table suggests. This is a new start for us, we expect to start aggressively from the first minute and thus record a victory in front of our fans, said Radunović.
Romanian FCSB player believes Montenegro can stay in League B.
- As long as there is a chance to preserve the status of B league team, we believe that we can stay in this group. So, we will do our best to win tomorrow night. What we have to do is show unity. I repeat, I don't think zero on the table is the right measure. I believe that with the help of the fans we can get three points against Iceland and then try to preserve the status of B league team against Turkey, said Radunović.
