BREAKING NEWS-Two more earthquakes hit Turkey: Several injured and buildings collapsed, rescue operation underway

A stronger earthquake hit southern Turkey, followed by two weaker earthquakes. According to initial reports, there are injuries and several buildings collapsed in the Sındırgı area of Balikesir province.

The first earthquake measured 6.1 on the Richter scale, while two smaller ones measuring 4.1 and 4 followed.

The earthquake was felt across central Balikesir and neighboring provinces, including Izmir, Kutahya, Yalova, Istanbul, Manisa, Uşak, Aydin, Eskişehir, Sakarya and Tekirdag.

The mayor of Sındırgı, Sak, said that ten buildings collapsed in the area and that it was still not possible to get information from some parts. He added that four people had been rescued, while the search for two more was ongoing.

Footage showed collapsed buildings, and Turkish media reported that the number of injured had not yet been confirmed.
