Israel attacked a suburb of Beirut: Hezbollah is accused of hiding billions of dollars in a hospital bunker

AUTHOR: M.J. GDNUS
During the night and this morning, the Israeli army carried out more than ten attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut, accusing Hezbollah of storing millions of dollars in a bunker under one of the largest hospitals in Lebanon.

The attacks came after the IDF's Arabic-language spokesman, Lt. Col. Avichay Adre, ordered the evacuation of several buildings in Beirut's southern suburbs, warning citizens that they were "near Hezbollah facilities," The Times of Israel reported.

The Israeli military announced yesterday that it will continue to strike Hezbollah targets, focusing on their financial infrastructure.

IDF spokesman Daniel Hagari said the bunker under the Al-Sahel hospital is estimated to contain "several billion dollars in banknotes and gold".

He stated that Israel will not attack the hospital itself because it is at war with Hezbollah and not with the Lebanese people. However, the hospital said it was evacuating its patients to a safer location, while director Fadi Alameh denied the IDF's accusations.

Alameh told local Al-Jaded television that the hospital, which has been in the area for 42 years, has underground surgical facilities and has no ties to Hezbollah or any other political group.

The Ministry of Health denied the IDF's claims that Hezbollah was storing money under the hospital.

Hezbollah rocket attack on an IDF base in the suburbs of Tel Aviv

Hezbollah announced that it bombarded the Glilot base of military intelligence unit 8200 in the suburbs of Tel Aviv with a "rocket salvo", reports Al Jazeera.

Earlier, the Lebanese militant group stated that it also fired rockets at the Nirit area in the suburbs of Tel Aviv.

The Israeli army said there were no reported casualties so far.
