The former president of Albania and leader of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, was arrested today in Tirana by order of the Special Prosecutor's Office for Corruption and Organized Crime (SPAK) of that country.
He was arrested at the entrance to Tirana while driving to the place where he was supposed to hold a press conference, reports Euronews Albania.
As stated, Meta did not resist the arrest, which is connected to the investigations SPAK has been conducting for some time on the CHEZ DIA case, and a property investigation was also conducted for him and his ex-wife Monika Krijemadi.
