The Israeli army called for the evacuation of the southern suburbs of Beirut, and carried out attacks

Today, Israeli planes carried out attacks on the southern suburbs of Beirut after calling for the evacuation of the population of that part of the city, which Israel considers a theater of the Islamist movement Hezbollah.

It is the first attack in three days.

AFPTV images show plumes of gray and black smoke rising above the targeted neighborhoods of Beirut's suburbs.

The Lebanese news agency ANI reported that two "hostile strikes" targeted a building in Haret Hreik district.

The Israeli army called on the residents of that settlement to evacuate the area.

"Urgent warning to the residents of the southern suburbs, especially those of Haret Hreik settlement: live near the facilities and interests belonging to Hezbollah," against which the Israeli army "will carry out operations in the near future," wrote on the X platform Avichai Adrai, the Israeli army's spokesman on in Arabic.

Similar calls for evacuation were sent to two other settlements in the suburbs of Beirut that were the target of attacks by Israeli forces.

These attacks come after a rocket attack this morning from Lebanon towards the north of Israel and the sending of a drone towards the private residence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

At least 1,418 people have been killed in Lebanon since Israel's massive Hezbollah bombings began on September 23, according to an AFP tally based on official figures.

The UN has identified around 700,000 displaced people, including a large number of residents of Beirut's southern suburbs.
