Vučić to students: We do not accept the ultimatum, you do not have to wait until tomorrow

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated ahead of tomorrow's demonstrations, announced by students in the blockade, that "Serbia did not accept the ultimatum".

"The Serbian state has been faced with ultimatums from major foreign powers many times. This time too, foreign powers, through domestic henchmen, sent us an ultimatum. The Serbian state's response has always been the same. Serbia is not a handful of oats to be called. The ultimatum was not accepted and you do not have to wait until 9 p.m. tomorrow", said Vučić.

He stressed that the authorities in Serbia were ready for dialogue with everyone, but that this was misinterpreted as weakness.

"We were ready to talk to everyone. We kept the peace even when they were breaking the law. Then someone thought that this was a sign of weakness, that the authorities were afraid", said Vučić.

The Serbian President called on "all young people to save Serbia," adding that it was symbolic that the protests were taking place on Vidovdan.

"Once again, I call on all young people and all citizens of Serbia to save their country. But, in the end, it is good that Vidovdan is coming, because then everything will be clear. On Vidovdan, we will see who is scared and who is not, and the strength of the Serbian state lies in preserving peace. The people have no reason to fear," Vučić said.
