Nikolić: A group of conspirators serving Moscow and Belgrade admitted that they want to destroy the dream of life in the EU

By appointing Miodrag Lekić as an unconstitutional mandate, the putschist parliamentary majority has taken another step towards the international isolation of Montenegro and the halting of European integration, said MP Miloš Nikolić, spokesman for the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS).

Despite the clear and precisely communicated opinion of the Venice Commission, numerous unequivocal warnings from the highest addresses from Brussels and Washington, and appeals from the entire international community, the putschists, Nikolić points out, under the baton of Andrija Mandić, continued to destroy the constitutional foundations of Montenegro.

A group of conspirators against their own country, busy serving Moscow and Belgrade, formally admitted that they want to destroy the dream of our citizens to live in the EU. Their desperate buying of time before the imminent elections is the path that leads to a complete confrontation with the democratic world - emphasized Nikolić.

According to him, the "narrow coup majority", consisting of only one representative, destroyed Montenegro for two years, trying to deprive it of its state properties, to make it non-functional, and to prove in the final that it does not have the capacity to be a sovereign state.

The epilogue of such past work is a caricature play in which the coup plotters elect an unconstitutional president. The fact that someone, with a certain long life experience, regardless of all motives, agrees to be the unconstitutional mandate and pawn of Andrija Mandić, is truly devastating for Montenegrin democracy - emphasized Nikolić.

As he emphasized, this play will also have its inglorious end, like all previous plays, whose main protagonists are people who, Nikolić adds, continuously undermine the international credibility of their own country.

It will only be a new loss of precious time and a new mess for Montenegro. The only way out of the protracted crisis is extraordinary parliamentary elections, with the prior establishment of the full functionality of the Constitutional Court - concluded Nikolić.
