Pobjeda publishes the Serbian passport of Milojko Spajić

After the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia confirmed that the leader of the "Europe Now" Movement Milojko Spajić resides in Serbia, Pobjeda exclusively publishes a document confirming that Spajić also has a Serbian passport.
According to the document published by Pobjeda, the passport was issued on February 22, 2019, with a residential address of Zvezdara, Belgrade, Ulica Veselin Čajkanovića 025.
The notification of the Serbian MUP that Spajić resides in Belgrade, as well as the publication of his passport, confirmed the writing of Pobjeda. Back in April 2021, our newspaper announced that Spajić, in addition to Montenegrin, also had Serbian citizenship and residence - in Podgorica and Belgrade at Topalovićeva number 4.
After the announcement that Spajić resides in Serbia, the Europe Now Movement protested, saying that any allegations about possible residence in another country and possible citizenship of another country are completely irrelevant, because there is no regulation from the electoral legislation that assesses the formal fulfillment of candidacy , does not contain the norm that the presidential candidate must prove the same.
What does the Law say?
The Law on Montenegrin Citizenship stipulates that the MUP is competent to determine through the procedure when and in what manner a decision on admission to citizenship was made to an adult citizen. Montenegrin citizenship is lost by force of law if, among other things, a person has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of another country, and if it is established that the decision on admission to Montenegrin citizenship was made on the basis of a false statement or deliberate concealment of facts.
An adult Montenegrin citizen, who also has the citizenship of another country, loses Montenegrin citizenship by force of law, if he has voluntarily acquired the citizenship of another country, except in the case provided for in Article 18 paragraph 2 of this law, it is written in Article 24 of the Law on Citizenship. The mentioned exceptions refer to the acquisition of Montenegrin citizenship, which can be acquired on the basis of international treaties and agreements concluded by Montenegro.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Internal Affairs asked the State Election Commission to provide them with all the information they have about the leader of the "Europe Now" Movement, Milojko Spajić.
After the SEC submits the requested document, we will contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Serbia to get proof from them of whether that person has Serbian citizenship and when he acquired it - said the general director of the Directorate for Citizenship and Foreigners in that department, Radovan Popović.
If it turns out that Spajić has dual citizenship, he explained, the MUP's further action will depend on how he acquired it.
If it is after June 3, 2006, then the person will be asked to make a statement about which citizenship he wants to keep. He will have the opportunity to choose - said Popović.
What does Spajić say?
In addition to breaking the law, Spajić also misled the public on several occasions by denying that he resides in Serbia.
Thus, after the session of the Main Board of the "Europe Now" Movement, which was held on February 4, when asked if he had a residence in Serbia, he said that he did not understand "so much obsession with Serbia", and that it was a country he had never lived in.
I support the State Election Commission to contact the SEC of Singapore, where I temporarily stayed for five and a half years, the SEC of Japan, where I stayed for six years, the SEC of France, where I stayed for two years, the SEC of America, where I was for about a year - Spajić said then .
He repeated this on the same day in the daily TV Vijesti.
Like most citizens of Montenegro, I feel very good in Serbia, which is very close to us, I have never lived in Serbia. I lived in Singapore, Japan, France, I was always on a work and school visa... My permanent residence was always linked to Montenegro, he said in a guest appearance in Vijesti.
He answered this when asked if he has dual citizenship, i.e. citizenship of Serbia.
He stated that one of the conditions for running for president is to have the citizenship that he has.
I checked the place of residence at the MUP. The Ministry of Internal Affairs claims that I have also fulfilled this condition, so I would not go into any more details. We know that in the past we had candidates who were out of Montenegro for a certain number of years and no one asked such a question - Spajić said.
