Stanić: "Njegoševa nagrada" awarded to Baja Malo Knindža is one of the biggest insults to the great man who founded Montenegrin culture and spirituality

SOURCE: POBJEDA / M.J.
Leading state institutions, above all the Government, the Parliament and the Ministry of Culture and Media must protect the name and reputation of Petar II Petrović Njegoš, the Montenegrin ruler and bishop and one of the greatest poets in South Slavic languages, said the member of the Presidency of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) Mirko Stanić.
The shameful performance organized in Banja Luka on January 9, at which the president of the smaller Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity Milorad Dodik awarded the "Njegošev award" to a person named Mirko Pajčin and nicknamed "Baja Mali Knindža" is one of the biggest insults to the great man who founded Montenegrin culture and spirituality, but also statehood and independence - pointed out Stanić.
He notes that the sublimity and genius of Bishop Rad's works are the reason why the biggest literary award in this region bears his name, and also why the Parliament of Montenegro declared the day of his birth Njegos Day - a national holiday of Montenegrin culture.
On the other hand, the obscure, primitive and war-mongering "Mali Knindža" represents the exact opposite of the philosophical and spiritual heights that Njegoš has reached, and therefore we call on the competent state authorities to protect his name and legacy from such mundane and charlatan manipulations as soon as possible and to initiate appropriate procedures in that direction and towards the institutions of BiH and its entity RS. We especially invite those whose mouths are full of "Njegoševska Montenegro" to stand in the way of this wanton attack on the historical, cultural, spiritual, philosophical, but also moral and cosmopolitan heritage that we inherit in modern times thanks to the immortal Rad Tomov - said Stanić.
