Vlahović: Abazović must be given clear and decisive resistance, he is ready to threaten laws, institutions and people

The Montenegrin Helsinki Committee (CHO) joins in condemning the baseless, unjustified and aggressive statements, as well as the pamphlet that Technical Prime Minister Dritan Abazović published today in the regime newspaper "Vijesti", announced CHO President Miodrag Vlahović.
He believes that the statements and attitudes of Abazović confirm, once again, the destructive and anti-state activity, which existed even before he assumed the office of Prime Minister of Montenegro.
His political mission, which abounds in the denial, violation and trampling of elementary democratic principles and rules, human rights and freedoms, but also in multiple violations of the law - for which there have long been prerequisites for the initiation of appropriate procedures and actions by the Special Prosecutor's Office and by the Chief Special Prosecutor himself (who by their inaction become accomplices of Dritan Abazović) - is now completed with completely unfounded name-calling, branding and targeting of leading critically oriented activists from the non-governmental sector, as well as their organizations - stated Vlahović.
He assessed that Dritan Abazović wants to silence all those who criticize his extremely dubious and destructive policy, which - with the latest act of illegal "searches" and open police torture - acquires all the features of panicked and uncontrolled dangerous behavior.
Aware of the fact that his political end is approaching, Abazović is ready to endanger and - if we allow him - to sacrifice rules, regulations, laws and institutions, but also - living people. Such behavior and open intention to trample and eliminate elementary legality that must be present in every procedure and public communication of someone who - even if he was voted no-confidence in the Parliament of Montenegro a year ago - is still in the position of the head of the executive branch - said Vlahović.
On behalf of CHO, he called on all institutions, political parties and leaders, as well as representatives of the civil sector and free citizens to make it clear to Dritan Abazović and the media, intelligence and church circles and power centers that support his dishonorable and anti-state mission, that their work will not be tolerated.
At the same time, we express our support to everyone - both "named" and those whom Abazović did not mention by name this time - who are ready to defend and defend our society and the state against the attacks and threats of that man and his accomplices and mentors. Our answer must be clear, decisive and uncompromising - he concluded.
