Acting director Lazar Šćepanović says that Maertinović consumed alcohol all day, went home, took a weapon and killed four people in a restaurant.
He then committed murders in three more locations.
"The Martinonović family, a member of his own family, and two children," says Šćepanović.
This is a person who committed violent behavior in 2005, he adds, and that he was sentenced to a suspended sentence for a year.
"In 2022, a search was conducted at this person's home and a weapon was found for which no court epilogue was obtained".
He appeals to citizens to notify the police if they see him.
He explained that the vehicle he was using has been located.
"A scene investigation is underway at several locations. It is very likely that he is armed because we did not find any weapons in the vehicle," he said.
He states that he did not have a permit for the weapon.
"According to information, he is located in the territory of Cetinje".
