Honor to the exceptions, you've settled, secured yourself a few more mandates thanks to the majority quotas... who cares that some Alma, a mother of three minor children, was beaten to death by her partner, a monster, said Social Democrat (SD) MP Nikola Zirojević in a Facebook post, commenting on the fact that the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament and the MPs have not spoken out about the death of Alma Ćosović, who succumbed to injuries inflicted on her by Dušan Ramić.
- Will none of these soul-stirring figures who trumpet women's rights every day speak out? Will we not read the statement of the Deputy Speaker of the Parliament or some of the MPs who, whenever you attack them with political arguments, have a mouthful of stories that it's because they're women? That none of those who, just a few days ago, triumphantly congratulated us on the new quota of 40 percent women in politics will speak out? What is the quota for women victims of femicide and women victims of domestic violence, tell us? How many more women need to suffer for you to wake up - these are the questions Zirojević asks.
Unfortunately, as he points out, MPs are also silent, often relativizing these questions.
Zirojević asks what message is being sent by a government that re-elects an "illegally elected mobster", while only one woman from the government raises her voice and opposes it?
- What message is being sent to us by a system that did not protect Alma and many before Alma, but is urgently interrogating us for commenting on someone's slippers? Why did the public, and even the people of Nikšić, not know anything about this? Why do we still not know what happened to the monster who did this? Shame on you all who allowed this to become a pattern of behavior! "Shame on all of us who remain silent about this, and react to all sorts of nonsense," said Zirojević.
