The death toll from Texas floods has risen to 67, CNN reports. Texas Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick said today, according to US media.
"We're at 59 now. Unfortunately, we expect the number to rise," he told Fox News.
According to earlier statements by Kerr County Sheriff Larry Leit, 11 other girls who were on a summer vacation at Camp Mystic are among the missing.
Kerrville City Manager Dalton Rice said it is feared that a large number of people are missing.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has ordered agencies searching for the missing to assume that everyone is still alive.
He previously declared a state of emergency due to the floods that hit central Texas on Friday.
Heavy rains, which fell in record amounts in just a few hours in some parts of the region, caused flash floods on the Guadalupe River.
