Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that he discussed sanctions against Moscow and military cooperation in a phone call with his American counterpart Donald Trump, just days before the deadline for the US leader's ultimatum to Russia expired.
"We discussed sanctions against Russia, as well as bilateral cooperation between Kiev and Washington in the field of defense," Zelensky said on Telegram, referring to the "draft agreement on drones."
Trump is considering so-called "secondary" sanctions, which are imposed on countries that buy Russian oil, with the aim of cutting off a vital source of income for the Russian war machine.
