Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said today that some progress has been made in talks on a possible peace solution to the war in Ukraine, but stressed that contacts with the United States are "quite complicated".
"The contacts are quite complicated because, of course, the topic is not easy," Peskov told reporters. "Russia is committed to resolving this conflict, protecting its own interests and is open to dialogue. We continue to do so," he said.
The statement comes at a time when US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is increasingly openly questioning the meaning of the US engagement, saying that the US should "move on" if a ceasefire agreement is not reached in the next few days.
