Belgrade: Student blockade of RTS enters 70th hour; RTS news and Dnevnik broadcast from unknown location and with technical problems

Student blockade of RTS enters 70th hour. Unlike the previous day, when police officers escorted RTS employees past the kebab shop to their workplace, this morning all entrances to the building in Takovska were blocked.

This was evident in the public service's program. The morning program was not broadcast, and instead the film "Exodus: Gods and Kings" was broadcast.

News and Dnevnik were not broadcast from the well-known RTS studios, but from an unknown location and with technical problems.

Let us recall that the blockade of Radio Television of Serbia has entered its third day. Students are demanding a new competition for members of the REM Council or the closure of public media services. Belgrade students sent a letter to the Committee for Culture and Information of the Serbian Parliament informing them that the blockade of RTS will last until the Public Call for the Election of REM Council Members is published.

While the blockade of RTS continues, student cyclists in Strasbourg are trying to draw the attention of EU institutions to the situation in Serbia.

A student protest "Pump, pump Ibar water" was held in Kraljevo yesterday, at which, according to the Archive of Public Assemblies, about 15,000 people gathered.

The students in the blockade announced yesterday that some of them will run in a relay race from Novi Sad to Brussels, where a session of the European Parliament will be held in May, on the agenda of which is a debate on the situation in Serbia.

The Rector of the University of Belgrade, Vladan Đokić, received a summons to report to the police on Friday in his capacity as a citizen.
