The blockades of streets and intersections in cities in Serbia are entering their sixth day. After last night's mass gathering, the Main Street in Zemun became a pedestrian zone, and blockades of several more streets are planned. In the meantime, the police and parapolice, according to the media, are carrying out repression that Serbia has not seen in years, and there are still no indications from the top of the government that the students' demands will be met.
Students of the Gymnasium in Raška who were blocking the high school, announced today that a high school graduate was "brutally beaten up" last night by a police officer M.M. from the Raška Police Station because "they assumed he had pushed a container into the street," the "Razglas" portal reported.
"We will not tolerate this kind of behavior," the high school students added and called for a protest.
The "Razglas" portal contacted the injured high school graduate, who confirmed in a telephone conversation that he had been "beaten up by a police officer".
According to unofficial information, last night at around two o'clock near the Raška Railway Station, M.M. and another unidentified police officer were beaten up by M.M. He was not taken to the police station, nor did the police write him a misdemeanor report.
