Eighth day of blockades in Serbia: Students call on citizens to be part of the rebellion and change

Choirs from several Belgrade municipalities and settlements, as well as students from the blocked faculties, have announced new blockades of roads throughout the city for tonight, and some of them will join a rally in support of anesthesiologist Vladimir Stefanović, who was arrested during the Vidovdan protest while providing assistance to injured protesters.

The blockade of Glavna Street in Zemun is still ongoing, and blockades of Autokomanda, Požeška Street, Bulevar kralja Aleksandra have also been announced...

Students of the Faculty of Law in the blockade have called on citizens to join them again at 8 p.m. in front of that higher education institution.

The Novi Sad choirs have called on citizens to come to the "disobedient promenade" and blockades of central roads from 7 p.m. tonight.

"Without leaders. Without leaders. Only citizens. Come. Be part of the rebellion. Be the change," the call on social media stated.

The protest in front of the District Prison on Bačvanska Street, organized by the Serbian Health Workers' Association, will begin at 7 p.m.

Stefanović was arrested on June 28, when he was providing first aid to an injured citizen at a protest in downtown Belgrade, and was ordered to be detained for up to 30 days.

Protests have also been announced in Novi Pazar, Kikinda, Vranje.

Students have issued a call to Belgraders: Tomorrow morning we will block the capital.
