Ukrainian unmanned aircraft attacked Russian cities Saratov and Engels, where Russia has an air database for its fleet of strategic bombers, said Governor of Saratovska area.
Governor Roman Busargin said that two cities were the target of mass attack by drones and that damage was caused on the industrial building. Didn't say if the affected base in Engels.
Busargin added that a fire broke out in the affected industrial company, but that there were no recorded casualties.
Russian media related to security services have published photos that show a large fire, and local residents said they heard more explosions.
The "Base" channel on the communications platform Telegram stated that the fire burns near the oil plant.
The air base in Engels contains the Russian long-range fleet of bombers, which is part of the strategic nuclear forces of Moscow, and is about 730 kilometers southeast of Moscow and hundreds of miles from the Ukrainian border. Ukraine also attacked the base before.
