Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said today that this year will not be easy for Serbs, that pressure will be exerted from various sides, but that Serbia will manage to save itself.
“They will try to put pressure on us from various sides, they will try to open topics that have long been closed, they will try to divide and split our territory, which they have not succeeded in the past ten or 12 years. They will try to return us to the old days and the past. We will never agree to that,” said Vučić.
On Christmas Eve, on the way to Hilandar, in a video message, Vučić congratulated the Serbian people and wished them a Merry Christmas and the best possible year.
He stated that whenever he came to Chilandar, he always had good and gentle thoughts, but also gained new strength, because he knew how much those who governed Serbia over the centuries invested in Chilandar, how much they loved it, protected it, cared for its future, knowing that they were thereby caring for the future of Serbia.
“That is why I am sure that today, after attending the liturgy on Christmas Day and at the vigil and by attending the morning Christmas liturgy, I will return stronger and more powerful and together with you, dear citizens, I will manage to preserve Serbia and continue to defend it and for it to grow faster than other countries. Long live Serbia! Happy Christmas Day to you and Christ is born!”, Vučić said, Srna reports.
