The Ukrainian Air Force shot down a Russian Su-35 fighter jet this morning, the Ukrainian military announced.
“This morning, June 7, 2025, during a successful operation of the Air Force in the direction of Kursk, a Russian Su-35 fighter jet was shot down,” the message posted on Telegram said.
No further details were provided. The Russian forces have not yet commented on the incident.
Last week, the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) carried out a major drone attack on more than 40 Russian military aircraft, damaging or destroying dozens of Tu-95 and Tu-22 strategic bombers, which Russia uses to launch long-range missiles into Ukrainian territory.
