The former President of Montenegro, Miloo Đukanović, called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Government of Montenegro not to withdraw their support for Rome's bid to host the EXPO 2030 World Exhibition.

The support for Italy was brought after a series of meetings at the highest level and on the basis of the basic principle of Montenegrin foreign policy that has been respected since the restoration of independence, and in accordance with which neighbors, European Union countries and NATO countries have absolute priority in determining support for candidacies in international forums - he stated. Đukanović on social network X, formerly Twitter.

With full respect for the opposing candidate, Đukanović notes that the historical ties, friendship and alliance between Montenegro and Italy are more than a strong and justified reason for Montenegro to stick to its earlier decision and confirm its credibility in bilateral relations.

Also, I call on President Jakov Milatović to advocate with his authority that the support for the Italian candidacy remains in force - said Đukanović.
