Đukanović: We have become hostages of political intrigue, the decree on the dissolution of the Assembly is constitutional

Commenting on the outgoing Prime Minister Dritan Abazović's announcement that after the inauguration of the new President, the MPs will shorten the mandate of the dissolved Parliament, former President of Montenegro and the Democratic Party of Socialists Milo Đukanović said that it is time to stop listening to and commenting on nonsense.
We have become hostages of political intrigue. The decree was passed, published in the Official Gazette, and entered into force. The Constitutional Court can question it - I don't want to comment on that possibility, but my belief is that everything was done in a constitutional way - said Đukanović.
He also reminded that messages to the public half a year ago indicated that even then he could have passed the Decree on the dissolution of the Assembly, but that, in his opinion, it was not possible then.
I didn't have the right then, now I do. Circumstances happened that gave me the right, and now a man who is part of the majority that brought changes to the Law on the President - and then they commented on it - they knew it was not constitutional, but they needed it and now we all need to comment on this foolishness . The less attention we pay to it, the more it will start to be a margin that will not ask for comment, but will be consigned to the past. That is the only recipe - emphasized Đukanović.
When asked what will happen if the "old" majority still decides to shorten the mandate of the dissolved Assembly, he said that they have done things that "lead to the sponge" before.
They have already done many things that lead them to Spuž - that is clear even without that - Đukanović is categorical.
