Đukanović will also attend the inauguration, we are setting an example of good democratic practice

The outgoing President of Montenegro Milo Đukanović said after the meeting with the newly elected President Jakov Milatović that today they continued the dialogue, the idea of which is to contribute to the democratic transition of this part of the government.
I think that this practice is very welcome and that it sheds additional light on the growing democratic capacity of Montenegro - stated Đukanović.
As he says, he talked with Milatović about several topics.
We talked about many aspects of internal politics, we agreed that there are many challenges ahead of Montenegro. The position of the president is important and influential in that policy - Đukanović assessed.
He pointed out that he believes that Montenegro will continue on the path of development, and congratulated Milatović on his mandate.
The newly elected President Jakov Milatović pointed out that these talks are a good example of the democratic transition of power.
It was up to us to set an example of good democratic practice and to send a message to the EU in this way that our society is ripe for membership in the bloc - he assessed.
With these talks, he says, they showed that they are dedicated to the state function that Đukanovic has performed so far, and which he will continue to perform.
Mr. Đukanović will attend the inauguration and I think that we will send a positive message from Montenegro that day - says Milatović.
He also adds that parliamentary elections await us and that it is clear to everyone that they should take place in a democratic atmosphere and that Montenegro will get a reformist and stable government after that.
Finally, Milatović pointed out that all presidents from the region will come to his inauguration, which takes place on Saturday.
