Đuranović: We will not be silenced by the Kovacevics, Abazovići or Sinđići

SOURCE - POBJEDA
On the order of the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Nikšić, prosecutor Vanja Sinđić, editor-in-chief of Pobjeda Draško Đuranović had to give a statement to the Podgorica police yesterday, on Sunday, following a report by the president of the municipality of Nikšić, Marko Kovačević, who accused him of being the instigator of the alleged threats that gets on social media?!
Yesterday afternoon, Đuranović received a phone call from the Podgorica police explaining that he needed to come and testify about the allegations filed against him by Kovačević.
As I told the inspector who interrogated me, the reason why the Nikšić prosecutor's office brought me into the context of possible threats to the mayor of the municipality, Marko Kovačević, is not clear to me - said Đuranović.
FAKE APPLICATION AND REAL PRESSURE
He gave a statement to the police at 3:55 p.m., and "admitted" that "Pobjeda regularly wrote about the political activities of Mr. Kovačević", but also emphasized that professional journalistic standards were respected.
Understanding the actions of the police, I find it appropriate to express my protest against this method of harassment, because I neither threatened nor could have incited threats to the president of the municipality of Nikšić via social networks, nor in any other way. That's why I consider Mr. Kovačević's report as a kind of pressure on journalists in performing their journalistic work - it is stated in the minutes of his hearing.
The editor-in-chief of Pobjeda was taken aback by Kovačević's report, but decided that it was a new attempt by the government to put pressure on the free media, with the assessment that it was clear that the prosecution was "cooperating" with them.
It was in vain for them, like everything they have resorted to so far - from the name-calling of former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, who also from the Parliament of Montenegro sent terrible messages to the media that are not controlled by the authorities, to the reports they submit, and the prosecutor's office zealously processes them further. We will not be silenced by any Kovacevics, Sindjićs, Prime Ministers, or Presidents. We report in the public interest, and that is the only interest that we will persistently and consistently serve as a media outlet - said Đuranović.
The current Montenegrin authorities, until recently led by Dritan Abazović and his Uro, continuously from 2020, when the first pro-Russian and pro-Serbian government in our country was constituted, headed by Zdravko Krivokapić, until this third one, led by Milojko Spajić, are making unacceptable pressure on free media.
The prosecution, which, unfortunately, has become an instrument in their hands, mostly does not react to their dangerous messages and hate speech, and if it does react and forms a case, as in the case of Marko Kovačević - when he denied the genocide in Srebrenica in 2021, there is the court to dismiss the indictment as unfounded. Or when Kovačević saluted the Montenegrin national anthem last summer in Nikšić, at an official event where he was with the country's president, Jakov Milatović, with his middle finger extended - Nikšić prosecutor Dejan Đorojević assessed that there were no elements that he had harmed the country's reputation?!
THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE AS AN INSTRUMENT
The Nikšić Prosecutor's Office stood by Kovačević ten days ago, when they assessed that in his post on the social network Facebook - "This building of the Zetska banovina somehow suits the President of the Parliament of Montenegro very well." And somehow it's normal that it bothers the Swabians" - there are no elements of a criminal act. Kovačević then spoke on the occasion of the civil protest in Cetinje and the sharp conflict between representatives of the opposition Democratic Party of Socialists and the parliamentary majority.
On the other hand, the prosecution promptly brought Boban Batrićević, a professor at the Faculty of Montenegrin Language and Literature, to court because of a column on the Antena M portal, in which he wrote about the role of the Church of Serbia and its dignitaries in our society. An indictment was filed against him for insulting his religious affiliation?!
Three days ago, the police knocked on the door of the family home of Nikšić women, DPS deputies Aleksandra Vuković-Kuč and Sonja Milatović, in order to hand them the criminal charges filed against them by Marko Kovačević, who, apparently, is in the last year of his mandate as the head of the Nikšić municipality. decided to mark it by taking critics to court.
According to Pobjeda's information, the complaint filed by Kovačević against the editor-in-chief of Pobjeda, which was immediately accepted and processed by prosecutor Sinđić in Nikšić, is only a part of the complaints against several persons from public life, journalists and representatives of the non-governmental sector, which were filed by the mayor of the municipality of Nikšić. apparently trying to stop reactions after his scandalous statement after the session of the Parliament of Montenegro held in Cetinje.
