Đuričković: The POSP session showed that DF is the boss in the parliamentary majority

AUTHOR: M.J.
The International Secretary of the Social Democrats (SD) Miloš Đuričković commented on the proposal of Vladislav Bojović, a deputy of the "For the Future of Montenegro" coalition and a member of the Parliamentary Committee for Stabilization and Association (POSP), by which, at yesterday's meeting of the POSP in Strasbourg, he asked to change one of the conclusions of the joint declaration in to the part that refers to the harmonization of Montenegro with the EU's foreign policy and sanctions against Russia, as well as to delete the part that refers to Montenegro's participation in NATO missions.
For years now, representatives of Democrats and PES have been strong advocates of European integration and the need to align our foreign policy 100% with the EU, unless they are in the same room with partners from the former Democratic Front. In that case, they are restrained at best. The POSP session showed that DF is the boss in the parliamentary majority - Đuričković stated.
According to him, the proposal of the deputy of ZBCG, Bojović, at yesterday's POSP session in Strasbourg to change one of the conclusions of the joint declaration in the part that refers to the harmonization of Montenegro with the EU's foreign policy, sanctions against Russia and to delete the part that refers to the participation Montenegro in the NATO missions, as well as the reticence of PES and Democrats on this matter, sent a clear message to the twenty-six members of the European Parliament, that the members of the parliamentary majority do not share the basic values around which almost the entire European Union has gathered.
The Government's months-long campaign with representatives of the EU and NATO, that the parliamentary majority and the parties to which they belong are truly committed to EU and NATO policy, was sunk by a single shot by MP Bojović in the middle of Strasbourg. Since the announcement of the formation of this parliamentary majority and the Government, we have been saying that there will be a change in the foreign policy course of Montenegro - he said.
The official of the SD emphasizes that it is senseless that, as in the case of Dodik, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Minister Ivanovic distance themselves from such a vote in the POSP. In this case, as he added, Minister Ivanovic would have to distance himself from the position of PES, to which he himself belongs.
Instead of the announced fulfillment of the criteria and the closing of the negotiation chapters, the deputies of the parliamentary majority led and guided by the ZBCG coalition, managed to confirm that Montenegro changed its foreign policy course and returned to the beginning the negotiation chapter 31. Foreign, security and defense policy - he said.
Đuričković said that it is necessary to urgently change the political scene in Montenegro, full support and strengthening of sincere European forces, while it is not too late.
The events at the POSP and the latest research, which shows a rapid decline in support for Montenegro's membership in NATO, are clear signals that the processes in Montenegro are being managed from Belgrade and Moscow," Đuričković concluded.
