Šehović invited to Washington for Prayer Breakfast

The President of the Social Democrats of Montenegro (SD) and one of the leaders of the European Alliance, Damir Šehović, has been invited to the 73rd Prayer Breakfast, which will be held on February 6, 2025, on Capitol Hill in Washington.

Šehović will, as stated, respond to the invitation this year as well, given the importance of this globally influential event, thus contributing to strengthening international ties and achieving cooperation.

“For several years in a row, I have accepted the invitation for this extremely important world event, appreciating the opportunity to put on the agenda pressing topics in the field of security and international peace in an era of many global challenges. I will use the opportunity to bring the priorities of the European Alliance's work closer to my interlocutors during international meetings, as well as the role of the Social Democrats in the current processes taking place in Montenegro,” said Šehović.

During this international event, with the aim of building and developing international relations, representatives of the participating countries will have the opportunity to meet with American officials on the sidelines of the central event, in addition to mutual meetings.

The prayer breakfast is attended by leaders, politicians and businessmen from over 140 countries around the world.

In addition to holding several meetings, formal and informal meetings, the central event - the breakfast, which is held on the first Thursday in February, is addressed by two special guests - the President of the United States and a guest whose identity is revealed only at the event itself.

The prayer breakfast has been held in Washington since 1953, and the event has been attended by all American presidents starting with Dwight Eisenhower.
