The political and institutional crisis was caused by the government when it decided to destroy the constitutional and democratic order of the state, announced the president of the SD and one of the leaders of the European Aliance Damir Šehović, the ES announced.
"The first step in that direction was the illegal takeover of the jurisdiction of the Constitutional Court by the Constitutional Committee, for the sake of a political showdown with a judge, whose mandate was terminated, contrary to decades of practice," Šehović emphasized.
Šehović pointed out that the prime minister did not react to the events in Budva either.
"The second step was the Prime Minister's passivity in the face of the shameful events in the Budva parliament, where a group of private individuals carried out a classic invasion of the local parliament and violently prevented the constitution of the assembly and the election of a new government, just because the political outcome did not suit them," Šehović stated.
He referred the Prime Minister to the opposition's position on how to get out of the crisis.
"If the Prime Minister is really concerned about the failure to adopt the budget, we refer him to yesterday's unified position of the opposition on how to get out of the crisis, the essence of which is the annulment of the unconstitutional decision and the possibility of holding a session in Budva, which is, by the way, his legal obligation. This is the fastest, but also the only way for parliamentary life to function," Šehović wrote.
According to him, it is the government's turn.
"So, it is the government's turn, not the opposition. We have said our piece and we will not back down from what we have said. Both Spajić and our international partners know that," Šehović concluded.
