Šuković on the prosecution of Boban Batrićević: Shame on prosecutor Šišević and the Prosecutor's Office

The editor of "Antena M" Darko Šuković assessed the decision of senior prosecutor Snežana Šišević to prosecute columnist of our portal and FCJK professor Dr. Boban Batrićević as scandalous and shameful.
Even for Montenegrin judicial standards and their treatment of Antena M, the prosecution of Dr. Boban Batrićević is an unexpected leap into absolute shame for those structures. The openness with which the state prosecutor exposes herself as a protector of the image and works of priests of the Church of Serbia is scandalous and turns the Prosecutor's Office into a censor. Honestly, prosecutor Šišević's submission to the Court for Misdemeanors looks more like documents from the Inquisition era, a confirmation of the infallibility and untouchability of a religious organization and its high priests, than an act of a person who in the 21st century has been given the right and obligation to think about human rights and freedoms and to protect them in accordance with the law.
He said that of course the plaintiff's behavior will not change the editorial policy of Antena M.
And if her goal is to secure progress in her ministry with a church-friendly lawsuit, she is probably done for. It is over, I'm afraid, with the illusion of Montenegro as a state of the rule of law ready to close Chapters 23 and 24. Unless it turns out that a party prosecution is unacceptable for Brussels, and a popish prosecution is acceptable. Finally, Boban knows that in Antena M there is a motto, equivalent to Article 5 of the NATO Statute: an attack on one member of the newsroom is an attack on the entire newsroom - concluded the editor of Antena M.
