The verdict of the High Court in the coup d'état case is scandalous, announced the president of the Democratic Party of Socialists (DPS), Danijel Živković.
We remind you that in the repeated trial in the coup d'état case, all the defendants in that case were acquitted yesterday in the High Court. That decision was made by the panel of judge Zoran Radović. This is a repeated procedure, because according to the first verdict, all the suspects, including the current President of the Parliament of Montenegro Andrija Mandić and the leader of the DNP, Milan Kneževićo, were sentenced to a total of 70 years in prison.
The DPS will request the opening of a parliamentary investigation into the coup d'état case. We have an obligation to the public to find out all the facts about this case and to debunk it to the end. It is about legitimizing treason and selling state interests - said Živković at today's press conference.
He recalled the statement of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić from 2016 that there is irrefutable evidence that a coup d'état is ready in Montenegro, as well as the statements of State Department officials and former US Vice President Mike Pence.
The coup d'état did not happen only for the judicial authorities of Montenegro. This is an important procedure that carries a high element of social danger. The judiciary was instrumentalized for the purpose of dealing with the state of Montenegro. - said Zivkovic.

When asked by a journalist if the DPS was aware of the fact that an assassination was being prepared for the former president of Montenegro and the former leader of that party, Živković answered in the affirmative, adding that he could not give more details at this time.

Speaking about yesterday's statement by the President of the Assembly Andrija Mandić, when he used the opportunity to relaunch the scandalous idea of ​​rebuilding the chapel in Lovcen, the leader of the DPS says that he is not surprised.
Mandić's intention is clear to divert attention from the acquittal by putting identity issues in the foreground. He thereby only proves who is the real leader of the parliamentary majority. He is aware that, if he were to start implementing that plan, he would cause conflicts in Montenegro. But now we need to cover up the shameful thing that happened in the High Court and how else than by throwing dust in the eyes with one of these topics. He wants to change the character of Montenegro, he wants to change the essence of our country. He is not interested in anti-fascist and civil Montenegro, as well as European integration - stated Živković.
