According to RTCG, the Brothers Grimm fairy tales were taken from the Serbian language

Today, the media center sent a complaint to the ombudsman of the national public broadcaster RTCG regarding, as they said, a scandalous omission in the show "Calendar", broadcast yesterday on two occasions (both on radio and on television), which violated some of the professional standards prescribed by the internal Rulebook on program principles and professional standards.
In the show, which deals with reminding important dates, people and events of the past and which is supposed to be educational, information was published concerning the famous writers of fairy tales, the German brothers Grimm (Jacob and Wilhelm), and in it it was suggested that they were part fairy tales taken from the Serbian language, citing the fairy tales "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs", "Cinderella", "Ivica and Marica", "Little Red Riding Hood", "The Brave Tailor", "Toma Palčić and "Sleeping Beauty".
This suggests to those uninitiated in this issue that these fairy tales are originally Serbian, and the author of this disputed information did not provide a source for the stated claims, so that those who listened and watched this could get the impression that this is about something that has been established a long time ago. a truth that cannot be objected to. The problem, however, is that this is not the case. It is true that the Brothers Grimm knew Vuk S. Karadzic and were friends with him, but it is also true that the first edition of their fairy tales appeared in 1812, before they met Vuk S. Karadzic. Vuk met the Grimm brothers only in 1823, when he visited them in Kassel, where they were librarians. It is also known that the Brothers Grimm took over the fairy tales "Little Red Riding Hood" and "Cinderella", as well as some others, from Charles Perrault, a French writer born in 1628 - pointed out the president of the Assembly of the Media Center Dragoljub Duško Vuković.
By uncritically downloading inaccurate information from unknown and obviously disputed sources, Vuković believes that the author of the show violated two professional standards prescribed by the internal rulebook: accuracy and fact-checking.
If the objection of the Media Center is accepted, this inaccuracy will be corrected, and the unknown or malicious author will be disciplined, but the bitter impression remains that this is another example of the collapse of the credibility of the national public broadcaster - said Vuković.
