The metal mast, ten meters long, on which the Montenegrin national flag was flying, and which a part of the residents of the village of Štitarica, near Mojkovac, set up in front of the local church and cemetery during the night was cut down and stolen?!
- We knew this would happen. Because of this, the police visited the Štitarić cemetery last night and the second time, around one o'clock after midnight, when they passed they did not find the flagpole - said one of the locals, Svetozar Baković, indignantly.
As it was announced yesterday, part of the locals got organized, they collected money for the mast and put it up, and after the Church of Serbia caused divisions in the village when they recently put up a mast with the Serbian tricolor in front of the local church.
Some locals then placed the Montenegrin flag on the fence and on the elm tree, but it would be removed by the morning.
They tried to agree that the flagpole with the tricolor should be removed and that no signs should be placed in front of the Štitarić church and the cemetery, as was never done before, but in vain. Locals who support the Church of Serbia refused.
In the end, they agreed to put up a mast with a Montenegrin flag on it.
The mast did not survive either, vandals cut it down during the night and took it away.
The Church of Serbia remains silent all the time, while the representatives of the local church board announce that the mast with the tricolor was installed in accordance with the so-called basic contract.
That contract with this religious community was signed by the former Prime Minister Dritan Abazović, and with it he handed over the Montenegrin sacral cultural treasure to the church of a foreign country.
