The Albanian Forum received with concern yesterday's news about the decision of the Government of the Republic of Croatia to declare undesirable the three party leaders of the current parliamentary majority in Montenegro, who also hold important state functions.
"We believe that this is a serious warning to our friendly and neighboring Croatia, which is a member of the EU and NATO and a day after the reconstruction of the Government, which must be taken into account in order not to deepen the harmful effects of our recent hasty and unnecessary decision to adopt the Resolution on Genocide in to the Jasenovac, Dachau and Mauthausen camp system," they state in the announcement.
We are afraid that Montenegro is not on the right path and that it is deviating from the path we want, they say from the Albanian Forum.
They further state that they suggested before the adoption of the resolution on Jasenovac that Montenegro's European path would be in trouble and, as they say, of course they did not support it precisely because of the damage we could cause.
"We invite the other constituents, especially from minority nations, to analyze in detail how the reconstructed Government will move both externally and internally," the announcement states.
One thing is certain, as stated in the Forum led by Nik Đeljošaj, "wherever we are in state positions, our actions will not endanger the European path and we will never, as we have never supported decisions that will disturb the relations of Montenegro, especially with member states of the European Union and NATO."
The Assembly and the leaders of the parties who, as assessed in the Albanian Forum, led to the problem, should immediately review the decisions that are the cause of yesterday's decision by the member of the European Union.
It is always better to repair the damage and apologize, than to persist in harmful decisions that will be a noose around the neck of the Eveopski progress of Montenegro, they believe.
"The Albanian forum will not relive such decisions and remain silent on them, but through the available mechanisms will work to minimize the damage to Montenegro's European path, but at the same time we will not be complicit in the destruction of Montenegro's European path," the statement concludes.
