ANB had information about the preparation of the assassination of Đukanović as early as Wednesday, July 10, but did not inform the Police Directorate

AUTHOR: M.J.
Although the leaders of the National Security Agency received confidential information about the preparation of the assassination of Milo Đukanović on Wednesday afternoon, July 10, directly from the office of the former President of Montenegro, they did not inform the Police Directorate or the State Prosecutor's Office about the alarming security threat, Television E learned from more sources from ANB.
Instead of the official coordination channels of the security community, the information was delivered to the editorial office of Vijesti, which published the news, and after that, the Police Directorate, only on the afternoon of Saturday July 13, was officially informed that there was a threat to the life of the former Montenegrin president, so security protection measures were increased.
Ivan Vuković, deputy of the Democratic Party of Socialists, spoke today about the incomprehensible actions of the top of the ANB.
- The National Security Agency needed two days and a text from Vijesta to inform the police about the preparation of the assassination of former president Milo Đukanović - commented Vuković.
The Police Directorate announced this morning that immediately after receiving the information that the former President of Montenegro, Milo Đukanović, received information that an assassination was being prepared against him, they took measures and actions within their jurisdiction, including notifying the competent prosecutor's office, and that a case was opened on that occasion.
- That's all there is to know about the country's security apparatus, devastated in the last four years - said Vuković in a post on the social network Iks.
According to E TV information, ANB also had operational data on a group from Serbia, among which were former Gendarmerie and police officers, who planned, with paid executioners from Albania, the liquidation of the former Montenegrin president Đukanović.
According to ANB sources, intensive consultations with Western partners regarding the verification of the initial information, especially details about the group from Serbia, are underway.
The question, however, is how much the Montenegrin intelligence community - primarily the ANB, whose credibility and capabilities have been seriously damaged during the last four years - will be able to actively act in the prevention of security threats.
The data on the security protection of the former president Đukanović speaks convincingly about this. Three days ago, according to information from TV E, Đukanović's day shift security at his place of residence was terminated, with the official explanation that "there are not enough people". Such an arrangement of "security and protection" of the former Montenegrin president practically enables unhindered divestment activities, from unhindered entry into the garage or apartment and endangering any member of Đukanović's family.
Due to the alleged "lack of funds", the escort of former President Đukanović abroad was reduced from two members of security to one, who is usually not located in the immediate vicinity of Đukanović, whom he is supposed to protect.
