Živković injured in the unblocking of the roundabout in 2019.
The name of Dalibor Živković came into the public spotlight when he was injured in 2019 in an attempt to unblock a roundabout near Podgorica airport by demonstrators who opposed the then-adopted Law on Freedom of Religion. In addition to Živković, three other police officers were slightly injured in that incident.
Previously, a group of citizens blocked the road leading from Podgorica to the airport and the southern part of the coast, which caused a standstill and formed columns of cars on that part of the road, the police announced.
The police then announced that the incident occurred after a police patrol tried to legitimize a group of citizens "behaving suspiciously", which they refused and stoned two policemen and their vehicle.
According to the police announcement, a group of citizens then blocked the traffic on the roundabout towards Podgorica Airport, and the Police Intervention Unit was immediately dispatched to the scene, whose members were pelted with stones by the demonstrators during the intervention.
According to UP, on that occasion Živković suffered head injuries and a citizen took him to the Emergency Center for help, after the Emergency Medical Service could not approach the blocked intersection.
