Arrested police chiefs Darko Knežević and Dalibor Živković were released after being heard by the investigating judge to defend themselves from freedom - Marija Raković, spokeswoman for the High Court in Podgorica, confirmed for our portal.
As she stated, the judge accepted the proposal of the defense counsel of the suspects to impose a ban on meeting with certain persons, and the special prosecutor also agreed with this proposal because they proposed custody only on the basis of influence on witnesses.
The Special Police Department yesterday, on the order of the Special State Prosecutor's Office, arrested the head of uniformed police in Podgorica, Darko Knežević, and the commander of the Podgorica Security Department, Dalibor Živković.
Knežević and Živković were arrested on suspicion of having committed the criminal offense of abuse of official position.
